The World Health Organization (WHO) has released the Clinical Descriptions and Diagnostic Requirements (CDDR) for ICD-11 Mental, Behavioural, and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. This comprehensive manual, downloadable from the WHO website, provides updated diagnostic criteria reflecting over three decades of research since the ICD-10. Following its approval by the World Health Assembly in 2019 and implementation in 2022, the ICD-11 CDDR aims to assist mental health professionals worldwide in clinical application. From the following WHO publication, you can download the CDDR, watch the webinar for the March 8, 2024 CDDR global launch, and access a poster describing new features of the CDDR.
Complementing this release, the Global Mental Health Academy offers courses that emphasize hands-on learning through clinical case applications and discussions, enhancing understanding and application of the CDDR in practice. The materials from GMHA are also accessible as online self-led training modules in English and Spanish.
