Scott Stroup (he, him, his) is a Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University. His research focuses on treatments and services for people with schizophrenia. As director of the NIMH-supported Schizophrenia Trials Network (STN) he led several complex, multi-site randomized controlled trials examining treatment strategies for schizophrenia. He has led studies that used large databases to conduct comparative effectiveness research, to examine variations in service delivery, and to examine rates of dementia and suicide. He leads an NIMH Research Center that conducts collaborative research aimed at improving treatments and services for persons with schizophrenia.
