Kiran Thakur is a Herbert Irving Associate Professor of Neurology, Director of the Program in Neuroinfectious Diseases, and co-Director of the Program in Community and Global Neurology. Dr. Thakur performs clinical research and implementation studies in neuroinfectious diseases locally and internationally. Dr. Thakur also serves as an external consultant for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and World Health Organization (WHO) and has served on several committees regarding neurological care access for the WHO. She is currently a member of the systematic review group for the WHO Bacterial Meningitis guidelines, member of the WHO Intersectoral Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and other Neurological Conditions implementation planning committee, and member of the Strategic and Technical Advisory Group on Mental Health, Brain Health and Substance Use (STAG-MNS).
